Our AGM "Finished" off very nicely!!

We recently had a v busy and enjoyable day in Guild with our AGM, followed by a delicious bring and share lunch. After lunch we were treated to an excellent talk on "Finishing" woven fabrics by Guild Member, Sally based on the work of Laura Fry. Sally had taken a lot of trouble to weave samples of cloth using different fibres ( plant and animal based) and showed them in their unfinished, semi finished and fully finished states and explained the process she had applied to each one The differences in the three samples of each fibre were really amazing in both appearance and touch. Thanks to Sally we are all now far more aware of the importance of this final stage of cloth creation.
